Ingredients:


  • Tuna saku block, cubed

  • Cooked sushi rice

  • Soy sauce

  • Sesame oil

  • Avocado, sliced

  • Cucumber, sliced

  • Seaweed salad

  • Edamame

  • Green onions, sliced

  • Sesame seeds


Method:



In a bowl, mix cubed tuna with soy sauce and sesame oil.

Place cooked sushi rice in a bowl.

Top with marinated tuna, avocado, cucumber, seaweed salad, and edamame.

Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Before cooking, let the tuna sit at room temperature for about 15-30 minutes. This helps it cook more evenly.

Lightly season the tuna with salt and pepper, you can add sesame seeds just before cooking. You can also marinate it for added flavor.



Whether using a grill, stovetop, or oven, make sure it’s preheated. A hot surface helps sear the tuna quickly, locking in moisture.


For a rare to medium-rare finish, sear the tuna for about 30 seconds to 1 minute per side, depending on thickness. The center should remain pink and slightly warm.

- For a more cooked finish, extend the cooking time, but avoid overcooking, as tuna can become dry.


After cooking, let the tuna rest for a few minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute. When slicing, cut against the grain for a more tender bite.
